Requirements

phpMyRealty is powered by PHP, the popular server-based scripting language, and MySQL, the powerful open-source database management system. This makes phpMyRealty a multi-platform web-based application able to properly run in Windows, UNIX, Linux, or BSD environments.

The main requirements to run the software are as follows:

FTP or SSH Access - FTP or SSH access is required to upload the script to your web hosting provider and configure the script.
PHP 4.3+ - As the software is developed in PHP, your server must support PHP files. In order to ensure stability and security, we highly recommend using the latest stable release of PHP.
MySQL - MySQL is the database management system that we utilize to store all user, listing, and configuration information.
GD2 - The GD2 graphic library must be compiled into your PHP installation in order to process images. Without GD2, the software will be unable to manipulate, modify, or resize any images uploaded to the web site. GD2 is a very common module and is typically already installed.
MEncoder - Optional - You will need MEncoder if you wish to upload videos. MEncoder is a video conversion tool that will convert most video formats to FLV (Flash Video). Please note that BlueHost, our recommended hosting provider, does not support MEncoder at this time.
Mod_Rewrite - Optional - Allows SEO-friendly URLs. This is not required for the software to operate.
cURL - Required for Google Maps to display throughout web site and to check when updates are available for the software.
IonCube or Zend Optimizer - Although 99% of the software is open, we encode a few files for licensing purposes. These files are not necessary to edit for modification or templating purposes and therefore will not be unencoded under any circumstances. Please check with your web hosting provider to ensure you have IonCube or Zend Optimizer support.
